TV 수신카드를 내 노트북에 연결을 해보니 자체에 문제는 없었고, 노트북을 봤더니 꽤나 구형이다.
역시나.... USB 포트가 1.1인것이다. 요즘 대부분의 TV수신카드가 HDTV를 지원하면서 2.0만을 지원하는게 많다보니 구형 노트북에서는 사용할 수가 없는 것이다.
언제부터인가 우리 주변에는 수많은 USB 장비들이 우리를 에워싸고 있다.
지금 내 노트북에서 USB 허브를 통해서 외장 하드디스크, 키보드, 마우스, 타비(PMP), 핸드폰 데이타 케이블, USB 메모리 등이 연결되어 있다. 집의 컴퓨터에도 위와 비슷하고 프린터와 스캐너 등이 연결이 되어 있다.
요즘은 일반적인 USB 장비외에도 재미난 것들이 많다.
일반 쇼핑몰에서 간단하게 상품 검색을 해보아도 아래와 같은 상품들을 쉽게 발견할 수 있다.
Keyspan에서 이번에 개발한 U2S-2A라는 이 모델은 USB 2.0 무선 서버이다.
Windows와 Mac 기반의 모든 PC를 지원한다. 이러한 실용성 있는 제품들의 문제점은 항상 가격인데 $129이다. 프린터 서버 하나 구축하기로는 약간은 부담스러운 가격이지만 USB Device를 여러개 공유해서 사용해야할 환경이라면 적당할 것 같다.
